俑とは、死者とともに葬られるために作られた、粘土製の人や動物の模型です。この馬は、今では頭部しか残っていませんが、もともとは全身像だったと思われます。馬の特徴を捉えた生き生きとした造形で、赤色で彩られています。金属製のミニチュアの馬具を伴って出土する例もあります。
